‘His fingers closed around hers with the softness of a caress. And when his thumb brushed against the pulse in her wrist, her heart tumbled into a dizzying spin.’
Happy Valentine’s Day!Β
Today, I’m participating in Catherine Johnson’s Valentine’s contest. This quote is from The Doctor’s Lady by Jody Hedlund. She shares wonderful writing tips on her blog. Here’s a link to her articles on writing.
Catherine’s contest is to find a photo that fits the quote.
I’m a bit squeamish about romance, so this is as steamy as I get.Β What’s happening behind the flowers? I’ll never tell.
I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day with your loved ones.
Β
That’s a fun competition. Hah, you leave us in real suspense!
Happy Valentine’s Day, Stacey!
Happy Valentines Day Joanna!
Oh Stacy they are beautiful! You totally nailed it π
I see we were similar in our photo themes. Thanks for letting me part of the secret fun!
“What’s happening behind the flowers?” – you’re funny Stacy!!! Excellent choice of picture π
Oh Susanna, I roll with what I know (or at least with the photos I have hee hee).
Hm-m, I wonder. What is happening behind that beautiful bouquet? Fun contest! Thanks for her link too, & Happy Valentine’s Day to you too!
Linda, Jody is a wonderful writer and offers a lot of info on her site. Have a great Valentine’s Day!
Stacey, you do find the best contests! And I remember reading that scene from The Doctor’s Lady …
Beth, It was difficult keeping this one a secret. Hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
Gorgeous! I swear I can smell those roses. π Have a happy Valentine’s Day, Stacy. Thanks for brining loveliness to ours.

Thanks August. I hope you have a great day!
What’s happening behind the flowers! Thanks for the smile Stacy π
Happy Valentine’s day!!
We were all about smiles on Valentine’s Day. Of course, there were also toddler headbutts and belly laughs.
Excuse me, girlfriend. I’ll be right back!
*ahem* My glasses were fogged up. *smiling*
I truly love your entry. The roses are BEAUTIFUL! I heart you. Forever and ever.
You crack me up Robyn. “My glasses were fogged up.” You have a better imagination than me!
I love your entry, Stacy. The roses are beautiful. The petals look so soft and the scent is delicious, they look so fresh. π
Have a happy Valentine’s Day!
Hope you had a great day.
Beautiful roses Stacy. Catherine has a lovely contest. I’m going to have to get the book.
I hope you get a copy Patricia!
I think you did a great job with that! It’s funny . . . I have the same problem writing about romance–at least fictional romance. I have no problem writing about my husband or our relationship, but fictional romance is hard to do well.
Very true Nina about the fictional stuff. Loved your post about marriage first!
Stacy!! Thank you for the shout out on my book!! This was such a lovely Valentine’s surprise!! I just pinned your picture to my Doctor’s Lady board on Pinterest!
Oh, that’s very sweet of you. Love the quote, the book and your blog.
Nice! Brief, but it made me smile. I think a lot of people, writers and readers alike, are a bit squeamish about romance…and avoid the “steamy” stuff. π
I found my way here via the A-to-Z linky list. Nice to meet you. π
Nice to meet you Teresa. Good luck with the A to Z challenge. I’m looking forward to April.
