I love writing them.
I love watching my son eat them, sleep with them and look at them.
I even love it when he demands “more books!” Of course, we’re working on the demands, but he’s 2.5.
I’m so very grateful for the 12 x 12 in 2012 challenge and more grateful it will continue in 2013.
I’m struggling with my December manuscript. I had hoped to finish it before this post, but no such luck. Don’t worry. I’ll write one before we see 2013, because I’m a seasoned picture book writer. I have 18 drafts already completed this year.
This challenge has kept me motivated, connected and inspired. Thank you Julie Hedlund — even before your awesome video. Thank you also to the inspiring writers in the 12x group. I appreciate your support, expertise and spirit. You all make this writing thing feel easy, even though it’s not.
I look forward to 2013 for this challenge and many more opportunities to learn and to write.
Wow, 18 manuscripts! Congratulations!
Hurray for you, Stacy! 18 picture book drafts…that is impressive…especially because you have a little one and so many other obligations! I’m thrilled to be in a critique group with you…you are a very special lady.:)
Not just the drafts, but all that you completed this year with your courses, your community services, jury duty (almost) and mostly importantly, as Enzo’s mom! Congratulations!
So happy to party with you, Stacy! I also am struggling with my December MS and had hoped to finish before the party. But I know I can finish it before the end of December! Congratulations on your 18 manuscripts! That’s quite an accomplishment.
So glad to hear about your year, Stacy! I am excited to “meet” the other 12 x 12ers. Since I didn’t have a Facebook account, I felt a bit out of the loop but now I’m going to try to visit all the linky links and check in!

Yes, you’ll definitely finish December’s. You’re already ahead of the game. PS, I love that your son demands more books. Of all the demands toddlers make, that has to be the best one!
My son used to flip through board books for hours as a tod. Now he reads everything online. (not so many books). I cherish Enzo’s bookish book-loving spirit. Keep up your great work and thank you for sharing such fun with us.

I had to smile at all the ways you love picture books. My smile grew when I imagined your little guy eating them. 18 picture book drafts, wow! Congrats! I’m sure one of them can count as your December story, if you don’t get to it. If you’re like me, the Dec. draft will just pour out of you one day before the month is over. Maybe New Year’s Eve.
