Enzo said he wanted to share. Have one. |
I shared one of Enzo’s birthday cupcakes last week in a tweet after I returned home from a public meeting.
Then, I followed it with this tweet:
Who says government meetings are boring?
In reality, the meeting disappointed me and snuffed my creativity on a couple of weekend projects. I wrote about the meeting. This helped me vent and study issues raised during the public comments.
Turns out there are several meetings scheduled in June. I plan to attend whether anyone cares what I have to say about hydraulic fracturing or not.
As a result, my calendar for June is filling up fast — graphic design classes, jury duty, volunteer at VBS, training for my elected position and community meetings. A day here and there begins to add up. So, I’m freeing Monday by dropping that blog post. I’ll continue to post on Thursdays and Fridays. I’ll continue to lurk around the web too.
Here in the United States, we are celebrating Memorial Day. It’s a day to remember those who have died in our nation’s service.
If you are interested in making your own Panda cupcakes, I found the recipe on www.bakerella.com. I changed up the eyes. Enzo and his friends happily ate them.
Is your Monday free today or business as usual?
Congrats on making the tough choices! I have begun to think about goal achievement as a give and take. Some times one goal will be paramount, and the others just have to take a back seat for a while. I haven’t been doing much with social media for quite a while (and my comments and page views show it!) but I have an almost finished manuscript that I’m going to be able to send out on May 30th at the latest. I think that’s a fair trade off!
I can’t believe you were groped!
Lara, CONGRATS on the send it. I wish you some rest before you hit the final send button! I rarely look at numbers. That’s one of the give and takes I do on blogging. I know my numbers are low, so why waste time confirming it. 🙂 Yes. I was groped. I still don’t know why the guy felt compelled to grab at me to read my name tag when he could have said, “What’s your name again?”
Those cupcakes are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing the recipe. And Monday is business as usual for me, complicated by having my husband under foot 🙂
Susanna, Funny. My day gets “complicated” when Hubby is off too.
Geez, you have a lot going on. My suggestion for jury duty – embrace it. I did it a few years back, and thought it was a great opportunity. Interesting working with 11 other jurors, certainly interesting to see those that wanted to get it over with and were willing to vote one way just so they could get the hell out of there. Once my grandsons wake up, it’s all family today. We are painting homemade birdhouses!
Karen, I’ve embraced it. I discovered the court has a daycare system, which is a relief and somehow makes me nervous too. I hope you had a wonderful day of birdhouses.
Great idea Stacy. I’ll look out for you on Twitter. It’s not Memorial day here but it is really reminders are everwhere. Take care! Love those Panda cakes!
Catherine, I decided to do these instead of making a bear into a penguin. 🙂
We Canadians celebrated our holiday last Monday, so now I must get started with my “real work”. Have a happy day!
Tracy, I hope your real work was fun.
Yummmmmm! I want a cupcake! 😉 Happy Memorial Day!
Erik, Enzo likes to share his cupcakes.
That panda cupcake is too cute to eat. : ) Well, at least for awhile.
Today will be a day of housecleaning so that is one less thing to worry about for the rest of the week.
Susanne, I hope the housecleaning was a success.
Love the panda cupcakes!
Happy Memorial Day!
I will be taking a full on blog break in July and August I suspect, so totally understand you dropping Mondays!
Joanna, Good for you. Enjoy your holiday! And, I’ll be there when you return.
So sorry to hear the groping part of the story was true — sheesh!
You are a busy, busy woman — but I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know!
I’ll keep up with you as best as I can.
;o)
Today is a bit of a day off & “business as usual” for me.
Beth, Yep. True. Hope you had a great day. I enjoyed your wrap up of the Blue Ridge conference.
I love the expression on the Panda’s face! So perfect–esp. with your busy week.
Hope you have a happy (and grope free-yikes!) week 😉
Coleen. I’m expecting to have a grope-free week!
Adorable cupcakes! I spent most of yesterday recovering from a trip to the midwest to see family—fun times. 🙂 Hope you’re having a great week.
August – Visits to family are always fun.
First panda cupcakes and then chalkboard chocolate bars? I am thinking this Pinterest thing may be onto something after all! Nah…I’ll just see what you post and be happy with that!
Cathy, I’ve been a fan of Bakerella ever since I discovered her cake pops. I don’t make the shapes, but love making them as cake bites.
Stop teasing me with that delicious cupcake!!!
I wish I could ship them out.
Ugh, jury duty . . . we all have to do it, I guess. At least you have Twitter to keep you occupied, right?
Um, WOW on those cupcakes. Hope you pinned that picture!
Nina, I haven’t pinned the picture. I should. Bakerella is super easy. You can make them from scratch or just use cake mix, etc. These really were easy.
Love the panda. I want to eat him up. Government meetings always make me angry. I suppose I should work on that. Good luck with jury duty. May justice prevail (and may you not be too bored).
Hannah, I oddly enjoy jury duty. So, we’ll see how this goes.
