Susanna Leonard Hill tagged me after she completed a “blog hop interview.”
Who started all of this tagging? — Robyn Campbell, of course. Who wants to miss the fun when Robyn and Susanna are involved? NO ONE!
I copied the questions from Susanna’s post. She said I can answer four (or as many as I like from the questions). I’m supposed to tag three other writers, who in turn answer their four questions.
Here are the questions:
- What are you working on right now?
- How does it differ from other works in its genre?
- What experiences have influenced you?
- Why do you write what you do?
- How does your writing process work?
- What is the hardest part about writing?
- What would you like to try as a writer that you haven’t yet?
- Who are the authors you most admire?
- What scares you?
My answers:
1. What are you working on right now? — Revisions for submissions and a new WordPress website.
6. What is the hardest part about writing? — Time. I have several projects in the “write, revise, repeat” phase. Deadlines for critique groups and submission have kept me on task. Well, I’ve pushed up against a few deadlines, but they still motivate me to reach a goal.
7. What would you like to try as a writer that you haven’t yet? — I always answer “short story” to this question, but haven’t sat down to write one yet. It seems to be the best vehicle for a few ideas I have, but other projects take priority before jumping into this area.
9. What scares you? — An immediate concern is whether my husband is accurate that I allegedly over watered my neighbor’s plants, while she was away. Long term? Would I have what it takes to survive a continual onslaught of zombies? I mean, could I do it like some of those movie characters for days and years.

Hmm. I’m supposed to tag three people. Since I’m a writer and my math is shaky sometimes, I’m tagging Teresa Robeson — this is her blog! Anyone else?
I hope you all are having a wonderful summer. Like many of you, I’ve been busy — writing, studying, building a website, spending time with family, etc.
You’d think I have been fighting off zombies due to my absence from the blogging world, but I have not. That’s not one of my super hero powers (as evidence of my No. 9 answer)!
Thanks so much for playing along, Stacy! And I love your answers. I was chortling to myself over the “allegedly overwatering” comment – I sense a fellow Black Thumb 🙂 And you pose an interesting question about the zombies… 🙂 Good luck with all your projects!
I guess my neighbor will tell me if I have a black thumb when she returns. Thanks for inviting me.
Such great answers. I especially liked the overwatering the plant one. I am always short on time, too. But…better to have too much to do than nothing to do 🙂
Robyn is the best!
Yes best to have something to do! Robyn is the best! (just needed to repeat it).
Loved reading your answers, Stacy. Every June, our little community here posts a request for people to water the flowers around the complex…I never volunteer because I am sure I will either over-water or under-water them.:)
Congrats on the move to a WordPress blog…I’ve been there for three years and like it very much.:)
I’m looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at critique!
Great to see you at critique!
Zombies…hahaha! And, you know, our neighbors have over-watered our plants while we were away; didn’t kill the plants but did kind of ruin a spot on our wood floor. Still, we would not blame anyone who is kind enough to agree to help out while we were on vacation.
Your secret is safe with me…and your 292 followers…LOL!!
I can’t wait to see your new WP site!
This was outside, so maybe I didn’t ruin any floors. … maybe just the flowers.
I hope you get to write your short story. If you like writing really short stories you should have a look at the positive words magazine blog. She has a mini writing comp every month where you write a story (100 words only) using a particular word. It’s a lot of fun.
Good luck with the new website too.
I’ll take a look at that. I’ve written plenty of 6-word memoirs.
Lovely answers, Stacy. Why don’t you write a short story about zombies, me thinks you like them 😉 I’ve done a Zombie A-Z for one of my 12×12 drafts. I am pondering websites myself, is a wordpress website the same as me upgrading to have my own wordpress domain for my blog? Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Today at critique, someone mentions a zombie goldfish book. An A to Z book would be fun. I’m getting a self-hosted WordPress site. I think that’s the same thing you are talking about. We haven’t dealt much with the free version yet. Just the self-hosted sites.
Ha! For me, I would be scared if I under-watered my neighbor’s yard. I wish you well on your submissions and looking forward to your new site!
Yard … I wasn’t confessing about yards Romelle. Last year, a builder cut the water to a neighbor’s yard. … It took a while for that to return to normal after the summer heat.
Fun answers. Hope you write a short story and I’d love to read your memoir.
I’m still revising the memoir. It’s taking longer than I expected.
Stacy, if you are dealing with high heat temps, like we are, I don’t think your neighbor has any worries of her plants being over watered. Now if they are indoor plants, that might be another story. : ) Enjoy your summer!
We’ve had pretty cool temps here Susanne and a lot of rain for this time of year (well, at least per my recent memory). They returned home and reported the plants were OK. Yay!
Thank you for sharing! Best wishes on all the writing projects and WP site. Look forward to seeing it 🙂
I am setting writing goals and the revision is taking longer. Like I don’t-know-how-to-fix-it longer. I am coming off of a 10 month cert program on something else, perhaps it’s hard to shift the brain. But…I’d love for you to overwater my plants -that would mean that you are neighbor!
I’m with you on the revision taking longer than expected! Congrats on the certification program! I’d like to be your neighbor too. At least we can be online neighbors!
Hahaha. I love this Stac, my friend! I love the answers pal. (Er, I am a master gardener.) So the over watering just ain’t cool! *wink* *wink*
But zombies are so cool. (But NOT as cool as you.) MWAH! Thanks for playing the game, pal.
What a fun post. I hope your neighbor’s plants survived!
I’m sure you didn’t over water the neighbor’s plants. 😉 Good luck with your revisions. If there is ever a zombie attack, I pick you for my team. 🙂
I’m happy to report the plants did survive!
