Brief Synopsis: The cowboy bunnies do their chores around the ranch from sunup to until they have some fun before bedtime.
Link to resources: While trying to find resources for this book, I found everything from preschool with classes named “cowboy bunnies” to materials about the Easter bunny to cowboys. Here’s a variety of activities for different age levels involving cowboys. This Utah Education Network has a page of materials on What Does a Cowboy Do? I found lots of coloring pages too for cowboys, cowgirls and bunnies.
Why I chose this book: I love books with a ranch southwestern theme. This one is perfect. It’s fun for me to read and Enzo enjoys it too. The illustrations are unique. I even read the fine print — “The art was done in gouache on plywood panels.”

I was sold on the title! Cowboy Bunnies – how awesome is that? Also, I’m interested that the book was painted on plywood. That’s pretty unusual, but Punxsutawney Phyllis was too, and I have one of the original paintings (Phyllis in the blackberries) which I show kids on school visits. Thanks for sharing this delightful title!

@Susanna-I always enjoy illustrations, but these really struck me. I’m going to look back at the Punxsutawney Phyllis book’s art now. Having a painting is a great addition to your school visits.
@August- We found this book during a library visit. As I mentioned to Erik, it’s a fun one for adults and children.

I will definitely have to order this one! Our Kinders go to the rodeo every spring and the teachers always ask me for good books to read-this one sounds perfect! I LOVE the artwork on the plywood panels. Thank you Stacy!

OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE Cowboy Bunnies! It was one of the first books my daughter could recite by heart (when she was less than two no less!) Adorable. I was actually thinking of using it myself one week, but I’m glad you beat me to it. 🙂
