Groundhog Day is almost here and there’s a special event for our favorite groundhog — Punxsutawney Phyllis. This IS her time of year.
Author Susanna Hill, who wrote Punxsutawney Phyllis and April Fool, Phyllis!, is hosting a special fashion show for Phyllis. She needs dolled up before the big day.
Here’s my entry:
Not sure if it’s wise to let you ponder about the style Phyllis is wearing here.
I’ll give you a second. {Tick Tock Tick Tock}
It’s my version of Steampunk Phyllis!
I wasn’t happy with my photograph. The near midnight lighting in my kitchen isn’t too great.
When I heard about Phyllis’s Fun Fashion Show, I promised to put on my crafting cap. Here’s the result, an odd-shaped quilled cap, goggles, and dress! I continue to work on “quilling” something without a pattern.
If you want to see more entries, visit Susanna Leonard Hill’s blog.
If you want a fun book for Groundhog Day, check out Punxsutawney Phyllis. She won’t be wearing her steampunk clothes, but you’ll love her.
So I did this version of Phyllis too.
OMG, Stacy! I LOVE it! Steampunk Phyllis! She loves it too. I sense a lot of chain-wearing in our future 🙂 Thanks SO MUCH for joining in the Fashion Show fun! 🙂
Thanks for a fun, quick adventure. My husband may think I’m a bit off for staying up late dressing up a groundhog. Enzo kept calling Phyllis a chipmunk.
I love it! So clever and adorable!
You are too kind Iza.
I knew right away that it was steampunk but that’s not surprising since I read steampunk and even have a steampunk paper dolls book. 😉 You did an amazing job with dressing up Phyllis!
I kept thinking I should look for a paper doll outfit for Phyllis!
STEAMPUNKS ROCK!!!!! Great entry!!! 😀
Thanks Erik!
Love Steampunk. Love Phyllis.
So this is sorta perfect.
There is supposed to be a Steampunk costume contest at an upcoming writers conference. Most of the steampunk items were a little more racy than I portrayed Phyllis.
How clever, Stacy. Well done!
Thanks Jarm.
That is SOMETHING, steampunk Phyllis at midnight. The lighting adds intrigue. Let’s hope that winter is short this year!!
My relatives in the south are hoping for a short winter!
You’re a GENIUS!
I came up with a better idea after I posted! I should have dressed Phyllis in all the Divergent (by Veronica Roth) factions! {Palm to forehead.}
You can certainly post more than one entry, Stacy!! By all means – let’s see Divergent Phyllis! 🙂
I have two meetings tomorrow. I will try!
I love steampunk Phyllis. Does that mean you were working at midnight? That’s dedication! I solved my problem of reaching your blog, I added you as a link I follow on my blogroll!
I’m glad you figured it out Patricia! I’m sorry there was a problem. Yes. I was working at midnight. My little helper was asleep, so I was able to work on my Phyllis project.
That is so cool! Burning the midnight oil for Steampunk Phyllis! Amazing what a groundhog will entice us to do! And I’m with Susanna. Let’s see Divergent Phyllis!
Yes. Phyllis is very powerful. I’ll see what I can pull together!
Love Divergent Phyllis as well! Yay you!
Thanks Beth.
Hahah, this is great! And totally fun! Well done!!
Thanks Pamela!
OMG, Stacy! The Divergent Phyllis’s are incredible! You are so clever! I might like the Amity version best because she looks so sunshiny 🙂 AWESOME! 🙂
Clock bits? How clever! And Phyllis up til midnight is no surprise. Had a hard time getting her to bed while she was visiting back in 2012! I hope we get to see more of your quilling!
So awesome! Choose spring, please.
Yes. Let’s hope it’s spring!
love the divergent theme! I just got the series for xmas and I couldn’t put it down! Fun post Stacy!
Thanks Jennifer. I couldn’t put the series down either.
That is so cool, Stacy! Clever you
Thank you!
steampunk Phyllis is very cool! Love it Julie!
Thanks! I think it seemed like a Julie thing to make. 🙂 She’s cool. I’m sorta random.
oops sorry, meant to say, Stacy!
wonderful!! love it!!!!
🙂
love it!! so cool!
Thanks!
Steampunk is amazing!!! I like you Divergent ones, too! But Steampunk…awesome!
Very nice. At first I thought Phyllis was in her Jane Eyre period costume. Honestly, I have no idea what steampunk is. I still like the look, at least on this groundhog. 🙂
Sue, Yes. Maybe a little Jane Eyre-ish. I didn’t want her to be too racy in her steampunk look. 🙂
Super cute! Phyllis is rockin’ her steam punk look! 😀
Thanks Meg. The photo isn’t so great.
I love Steampunk Phyllis! Her outfit is dark and steamy! = )
Thanks Angie.
SOO COOL! This was my favorite, you have been voted for.
Oh. Thank you.
Stacy…this is SUPER-COOL! She actually looks like she is ready for the Academy Awards…do you think she might go? I can just see her strolling down the Red Carpet and posing for the photographers. Great job.:)
I believe Phyllis is always ready for the Red Carpet! 🙂
