Why I chose the book: You know from the title the book is different. When I opened it up, I enjoyed the unique illustrations for each letter’s character. An alphabet book with a fun, unexpected ending is always nice. We are reading a lot of ABC and counting books right now. This book provided a nice twist in our reading experience.

What an unusual alphabet book. I love the idea of kids having to figure out to work together to help ech other out. Beautiful choice!

Can I throw my 2 cents in and agree that this is a fabulous book. No “A is for apples, alligators and acorns” – it’s a thinking alphabet book. Which also has great illustrations. Dan bar-El came to our school a few years ago as a visiting author/storyteller. Over the course of a day, he told stories to all the students in the school – kindergarten to grade 7. Every single child and adult was spell bound. And he is a very nice man.
I love seeing new alphabet book concepts – just when you think “It’s all been done before” something new turns up. Thanks!
