Before I Lived Here by me, @victongai, and Neal Porter Books @holidayhousepeachtree made The Best Children's Books of the Year 2026 edition (for 2025 books). It's listed in the 5-9 age under the family & community collection. It's wonderful to be among so many great books. I'm grateful every time this story is recognized. I'm grateful to The Children's Book Committee of Bank Street College of Education for including it. I'm always hopeful every time it's recognized or noted or listed that it's able to make its way into more young readers hands. It's a great reminder to keep writing and advocating for your work. You never know when a quiet little story will be on a classroom bookshelf, in a library or held by children, who are curious about the story and the illustrations. #keepwriting

A Tale of Tragedy y Tortillas book by Eliza Kinkz on @julierowanzoch blog. I was holding the book in my hands in a few days. Thank you librarians. This book had me intrigued, hooked, and ready to read. I wasn't disappointed. While there may be a reason to let a story go into the "digital" drawer, there may a great reason to keep going. For example, a penguin loving child likely wants MORE stories about penguins not less.
